by SteveU KSHSAA 1A,2A,4A State Meet – Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 Results (coming): Class 1A | Class 2A | Class 4A HIGHLIGHTS by Tony Bozarth 4A Girls: Katren Reinbolt (Fort Scott) took off early and hammered the field, running 14:50 for the hilly 4k and winning by more than thirty seconds. Hayden (Topeka) scored 69 to win a highly anticipated race, that was thought to be wide open, over Winfield (92). 4A Boys: Josh Hanna (Winfield) ran 15:46 for 5k and pulled away from defending champion Angel Vasquez (DeSoto), who ran 15:54 in 2nd) to take the state title. Wamego edged Mulvane, 69-74, for the team crown. 2A Girls: Jenna Farris (Lincoln) ran to her third straight state title, running 15:31 to pull away from Lauren Howell (Maranatha Academy, Shawnee), who clocked 15:38. Berean Academy(Elbing) won the team title. 2A Boys: Dray Carson of Ness City ran 16:13 for the individual victory. Ellinwood scored 56 to topStanton County (Johnson, 74) for the team title 1A Girls: Audrey Schmitz of Axtell ran 15:49, controlling the race from the front to win by more than twenty seconds. Greeley County (Tribune) was the team champion. 1A Boys: Lucas Koch (Centralia) ran 16:16 to win by more than 30 seconds.
